Just finished: Bathroom vanity swap · Castleton · 2 hrs ago
Honest work. Fair price.
Repairs, remodels, installs, and the long list of stuff your house keeps adding to it. Free written estimates, same-week scheduling on most jobs, and the kind of follow-through that’s gotten harder to find.
Ranges based on actual jobs we’ve done in the last 12 months. Materials supplied by Mike add roughly 12–18% for our standard parts catalog.
What we do
If it’s on your honey-do list, it’s on ours.
Most jobs we book and finish in the same week. For bigger remodels we’ll walk you through a written timeline before we start. No surprise charges, no “while we’re here we noticed” upsells.
Drywall & paint
Patches, full sheets, popcorn ceilings removed, interior repaint by the room or whole-house. Furniture moved and protected, floors covered, walls finished smooth.
Leaky faucets, running toilets, garbage disposals, hose bibs, water-heater swaps, supply-line replacement. We don’t do new construction, but if it’s broken in a finished house we can fix it.
Ceiling fans, light fixtures, dimmer switches, outlet replacement, smart thermostats, doorbells. Anything inside a panel is referred out to a licensed electrician partner.
Cabinet swaps, vanity replacement, backsplash tile, faucet & sink upgrades, hardware refresh. We’ll quote and time it room-by-room so you’re never without a working bathroom.
TV mounting, blinds & shelving, baby-proofing, grab bars, door hardware, weather stripping, screen repair, picture hanging, furniture assembly. If it’s less than a day’s work, we can usually fit it in this week.
I started Mike’s Handyman in 2014 after a decade of remodel work for a bigger outfit that started cutting corners. I wanted to run a one-truck operation the old way — answer the phone myself, show up when I said I would, charge what I said I’d charge, and clean up before I left.
That’s still the deal. My son James helps on bigger jobs; everyone else you see on-site is a long-time partner I trust with my own house. We’re fully licensed and insured for Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, and Boone counties.

What customers say
Real reviews from real Indianapolis homeowners.
A handful of recent five-star reviews pulled straight from Google. All names and neighborhoods are theirs — we asked.
“Mike came out the next morning, gave us a written quote before lunch, and had the new vanity in by Friday. Cleaner when he left than when he showed up. Already booked him for the deck.”

SRSarah R.Castleton · vanity replacement
“I’ve had four handymen over the years — Mike’s the first one who actually called me back. Fixed a leaky shut-off, patched the ceiling, swapped two outlets in one trip. Fair price and no nonsense.”
Verified Google review
DTDavid T.Carmel · multi-job visit
“Hired Mike to replace 14 boards on the back deck. Showed up on the dot, finished a day early, even fixed a wobbly post that wasn’t on the quote — no extra charge. This is the way it used to be done.”

JCJanet C.Fishers · deck rebuild
“Mom needed grab bars and a higher toilet before she came home from the hospital. Mike got us in next day, was great with her, and didn’t up-sell us a thing. Real human. Highly recommend.”

PGPete G.Greenwood · aging-in-place install
“Five stars and I never give five stars. The drywall patch from a ceiling leak is invisible. He even matched the orange-peel texture, which I’ve been told is impossible.”

LHLauren H.Broad Ripple · drywall patch
“We’ve had Mike out four times in three years and every single visit he was on time, fair, and finished what he started. The bar is so low for handymen these days — he’s a unicorn.”

FAQ
Straight answers.
How do I get a price?
Fill out the form below or call (317) 555-0184 with a quick description and a photo or two. For most jobs we can quote over the phone or text within 24 hours. Bigger projects, we’ll come out and walk it with you — that visit is free.
Do I pay a deposit?
For jobs under $1,500 we don’t take a deposit. Pay when the work is done. For larger projects we ask for 50% on start and 50% on completion, in writing, so you know exactly where the money goes.
What payment do you take?
Cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, or any card (3% surcharge on cards to cover the processor — we don’t mark it up).
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Indianapolis handyman license #HM-2019-04477, $2M general liability through Auto-Owners. Happy to send the certificate of insurance before the first visit.
How fast can you come out?
Most weeks we have a slot in the next 2–5 business days. Emergency leaks and aging-in-place work get bumped to the next available morning when we can.
What if I’m not happy with the work?
Tell me before I leave the driveway and I’ll fix it. After I leave, give us a call — we warranty our labor for 90 days on most jobs and a full year on remodels. We’ve never had to walk away from a job, and we’d rather come back than have a customer feel stuck.
Do you do new construction?
No — we’re a repair-and-improve outfit. If you need a contractor for a full addition or new build, we’ll point you at someone we trust.
What hours do you work?
Monday–Friday 7:30am to 5pm. Saturday mornings for emergencies or as scheduled. We don’t work Sundays unless something’s actively leaking.

The more detail you can give — what’s broken, how big, photos if you’ve got them — the faster we can quote it. We answer every request within one business day.
