Home Services Light electrical

Fixtures, fans, outlets, dimmers, doorbells. The stuff outside the panel.

We do the everyday electrical work most homeowners want done but don’t want to do themselves. Anything that lives inside your breaker panel or requires a new dedicated circuit, we refer to our licensed-electrician partner same-day — no surprise upcharges, no “well… while we’re in here.”

What’s included

  • Ceiling fan install or replacement (existing box or new fan-rated brace)
  • Light fixture replacement: pendant, flush mount, sconce, chandelier
  • Outlet and switch replacement, including GFCI and USB outlets
  • Dimmer switch and smart-switch installs
  • Smart thermostats, doorbells, smart locks, hardwired smoke and CO alarms
  • Under-cabinet lighting (low-voltage and plug-in)
  • Whole-house surge-protector swap at the panel face (with electrician partner)

How we work

  2. Power off & verifyBreaker off at the panel, non-contact tester on every wire before we open anything.
  3. InstallBox checked for ground, fan-rated brace added if needed, wires connected with new wire-nuts, fixture leveled and secured.
  4. Restore & testBreaker back on, switch and dimmer tested through full range, app paired for smart devices.
  5. CleanupDrop cloths up, packaging out, old fixture either disposed of or left for recycling per your preference.

Electrical FAQ

The questions homeowners actually ask.

Do you go inside the breaker panel?

No — that’s licensed-electrician territory. We work everything from the switch or outlet outward. If you need panel work, we’ll get you a same-day estimate from our partner Tim at Marion Electric (Indianapolis Lic. #EC-2017-08821) and coordinate the visit.

Can you add a new outlet where there isn’t one?

If we’re tapping an existing nearby circuit and pulling Romex through accessible joist space (basement ceiling, attic), often yes. If it requires fishing through finished walls or a new breaker, that’s the licensed-electrician partner.

Will my smart switch work with my phone after you install it?

Yes — we pair it to your home Wi-Fi and the manufacturer’s app while we’re on-site and walk you through one routine before we leave. Compatible with Lutron Caseta, Leviton Decora Smart, Kasa, Wemo, and most Alexa/Google Home setups.

Hardwired smoke alarm replacement?

Yes — like-for-like replacement of 120V interconnected smoke or smoke/CO units. We test the interconnect on every alarm before we leave.

What if the old box behind my fixture is shot?

Common — old plastic boxes, missing grounds, or wrong-size boxes for the new fixture happen often. We carry retrofit boxes, fan-rated braces, and pigtail kits on the truck. If the job needs more than that, we’ll stop and quote it in writing.

Aluminum wiring concerns?

If your home was built between 1965 and 1973 there’s a chance of aluminum branch wiring. We’ll spot it when we open a box; for aluminum splicing we use AlumiConn or COPALUM connectors and follow CPSC guidance, or refer you to our licensed-electrician partner for a full evaluation.

Got a fan that’s been in the box since Christmas?

Most fixture and fan installs scheduled within 3 business days. Free estimate either way.
